Established in 1971 and headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auction, is the leader in collector car auctions and automotive lifestyle events. The company produces the World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions in Scottsdale, AZ, Palm Beach, FL, Reno, NV, and Las Vegas, NV, where hundreds of the world’s most sought after, unique and valuable automobiles cross the block in front of a global audience.

In 2015, Barrett-Jackson shattered world records and reached historic high during the Scottsdale auction. The Ron Pratte Collection alone brought in over $40.44 million in vehicle and automotive memorabilia sales. “This year’s Scottsdale auction was on a scale unlike anything in our 44 year history” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett Jackson.

At the 2016 auction, two of the best-known Hollywood stunt cars will be on the auction block. Optimus Prime and Bumblebee from the blockbuster “Transformers” will be crossing the auction block when Barrett-Jackson opens at WestWorld of Scottsdale January 23 – 31, 2016. Director and car enthusiast Michael Bay will be selling his 1967 Chevrolet Camaro used to play Bumblebee as well as the 1992 Peterbuilt semi-truck that served as Optimus Prime. These won’t be the only celebrity cars to cross the auction block at this year’s event. Others include

  • A 1970 Chevrolet Corvette custom-made for actress Farrah Fawcett by George Barris, who also designed the Batmobile
  • A 1976 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow that was singer Frank Sinatra’s wedding present to wife Barbara
  • A 1995 Volkswagen Jetta from the first “Fast & Furious” move, owned by actor Frankie Muniz and autographed by the late “Furious” star Paul Walker

More than 1,500 vehicles will roll onto the block during the Barrett-Jackson event, which is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year.
