Each year, Experience Scottsdale profiles a selection of local celebrities, from restaurateurs and sports figures to artists and adventurers. We invite you to meet this year’s luminaries and find out what they have to say about living, working and enjoying life in Scottsdale.

"Scottsdale has always been one of the leaders, maybe the leader, in providing great service to golfers and great conditions of play,” says PGA TOUR professional and 2010 Payne Stewart Award winner Tom Lehman. “One thing people always comment on is what great shape Scottsdale’s courses are in. That makes for a really outstanding experience.”

Lehman, who started playing golf as a young boy in Alexandria, Minnesota, currently resides in Scottsdale with his wife, Melissa, and their family. “There’s so much about Scottsdale that we love,” says Lehman. “There’s a wide variety of things to do, like sporting events with both professional and college teams, great restaurants and, for the ladies, great shopping. From places like Kierland Commons and Old Town to PinnaclePeak Patio, there’s something here for everybody.”

And for golfers, that includes an unparalleled collection of signature holes, from which Lehman offers up a few personal favorites. “I’d pick the 16th at TPC Scottsdale – it’s a phenomenal hole any day. The 17th at DC Ranch is a terrific risk-reward par-5 with great bunkering, while the 13th is a par-4 with the most amazing views in the city. And there are some really fantastic holes at Grayhawk. All in all, there are too many to choose from in Scottsdale – you just can’t go wrong.”
