Nestled in the majestic foothills of the McDowell Mountains in Scottsdale, Arizona, this golf club provides a natural alternative to ordinary golf. Its eco-sensitive layout takes advantage of natural terrain and vegetation and works under Audubon International Institute guidelines. This 7,072-yard, par-71 course features wetlands and cattails mixed with cactus and mesquite in a desert-golf oasis.
A major renovation of the McDowell Mountain Golf Club was undertaken with intent to add length to make it a challenging layout for low handicap golfers who play from the back tee and equally important create a fun and enjoyable golf experience for all other golfers when playing their appropriate tees. Although the native desert landscape frames the golf holes, play areas have been expanded through a combination of design elements to increase player enjoyment and speed of play.
