The Fiesta Events

This year, Scottsdale has turned up the energy surrounding the Fiesta Bowl and the BCS National Championship Game. Sandwiched between the two games is a week long college football festival. All events are at SouthBridge in Downtown Scottsdale.

Sunday A’Fair
Sundays, Jan. 9 – April 3, 2011
This free afternoon mini-festival on Scottsdale Civic Center Mall features concerts and performances by the Valley’s top entertainers, a diverse selection of arts and crafts available for sale, hands-on activities for children and families, and free docent-guided tours of the mall’s magnificent sculptures.
Celebration of Fine Art
Daily, Jan. 15 – March 27, 2011
Each year, the Celebration of Fine Art gives you the opportunity to meet 100 working artists under one roof. You’ll be able to talk with the artists about their work and what inspires them, and participate in their creative processes. Works range from realistic to impressionistic, Western realism to contemporary, and landscapes to still-life. Don’t miss the Sculpture Garden featuring more than 100 large-scale pieces.
P.F. Chang’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon & 1/2 Marathon

This annual event combines perfect winter running weather and live music every mile for a marathon experience runners and spectators alike won’t want to miss! The course runs through three of the Valley’s most vibrant cities – Scottsdale, Phoenix and Tempe – and is followed by a post-race concert celebration at Tempe Beach Park.

Scottsdale Native Trails

These free noontime festivals explore the rich and varied cultures of Native
America through music, dance and storytelling. Held most Thursdays and Saturdays
through April 2, 2011, Native Trails also features traditional foods, jewelry and craft
objects by Native American artists. This season’s performers include five-time World
Hoop Dance Champion Derrick Suwaima Davis (Hopi/Choctaw) and Taiko drummer
Ken Koshio of Japan. Lawn seating – bring a blanket or lawn chair.
Arizona Sun Circuit Quarter Horse Show

Watch nearly 2,000 horses and riders from around the world compete in events that focus on speed, elegance and precision. Be sure to visit the marketplace, where more than 100 vendors offer a wide selection of horse and Western products ranging from jewelry and clothing to horse tack.
