Annually sporting the largest crowds on the PGA TOUR, the Waste Management Phoenix Open (formerly the FBR Open) has gained legendary status on TOUR for being unlike any other golf tournament. Yes, the TOUR stop is different from all the rest, but what makes it so? It starts with the unbelievable golf played by the likes of Kenny Perry, JB Holmes, Aaron Baddeley, Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh on the beautiful TPC Scottsdale and ends with the biggest galleries on TOUR.

Located at the TPC Scottsdale Putting Green, the CBS Outdoor Special Olympics Open features 10 Special Olympian athletes, 10 celebrities or sports stars and 10 business leaders from our community. The event is open to all ticket holders and media and lasts about an hour.

Two lucky golf fans along with a host of local media personalities, community heroes and tournament sponsors will tee-it-up for charity in a unique closest-to-the-pin contest. Dubbed the “Shot At Glory,” the friendly competition will feature roughly 30 participants and will take place following the completion of the FBR/Xerox Pro-Am at approximately 3:30 pm. The event is open to spectators – in fact Waste Management Phoenix Open fans are encouraged to stick around and cheer-on the participants. This year’s competition will pay tribute to the Wounded Warriors Project, as a number of Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans will be participating in the competition.
