Arizona Indian Festival
Held in conjunction with Scottsdale’s Western Week, the Arizona Indian Festival provides a new platform for tribal tourism and awareness of Arizona’s indigenous communities by creating an inclusive inter-tribal event celebrating culture, traditional arts, crafts, and foods, as well as innovations and trends in cultural tourism experiences in Arizona.
The Cultural Experiences:
- Indian Villages
- Arizona is made up of 22 tribes, and most will be at the Arizona Indian Festival during the event. From the traditional food, to storytelling, to traditional dancing, singing and traditional dwellings represented within the village area, you will walk away fascinated by the native beauty that Arizona has to offer.
- Tribal Royalty
- Dozens of tribal royalty will be talking to guests throughout the weekend, making special appearances at the main stage and children’s craft area. These young women practice and demonstrate their cultural traditions through songs, dance, stories, humor, and the way they dress.
- Arts & Crafts
- AIF offers visitors the opportunity to buy directly from Native American artisans. Feel free to ask questions about the process of jewelry making, the creation of a Navajo rug or the patience it requires to make pottery. They are anxious to share their story with you.
