A 2015 winner of the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz International Vocals Competition, Veronica Swift has been gaining attention throughout the jazz world. The twenty-three-year-old singer has been performing every Saturday night at New York City's famed Birdland Jazz Club, where she was also recently featured as a special guest with John Pizzarelli.
Swift will join jazz veteran Benny Green and his trio for a very special evening. When the legendary pianist and composer was Swift's age, he was a protege of some of the true icons of jazz: Art Blakey, Ray Brown, Betty Carter, and Freddie Hubbard. Green toured and recorded extensively with them before moving on to become a leader of his own celebrated trio, a band he continues to lead today.
