As the chilly winter season approaches, families can celebrate the holidays, “Rainforest-style,” in the warm, enchanting environment of a beautiful rainforest amidst 3,000 colorful butterflies fluttering freely in the magnificent glass atrium.
Beginning November 23rd, visitors of all ages can experience the magic of the season at Butterfly Wonderland featuring butterflies from around the world including Latin America, Africa and Asia. Festive holiday décor includes a glowing Noble Fir Christmas tree dressed with shimmering ornaments in shades of blue, silver and white inspired by the brilliant Blue Morpho butterfly. Visitors will be welcomed into the rainforest with its lush foliage.
Standing majestically in the garden, for photo opportunities, will be a 7 ft. Living Angel adorned in head-to-toe silver with glittering wings of her own. Guests can also enjoy an extraordinary hand blown Glass in the Garden art exhibit in the conservatory by resident Newt Grover, while live entertainment fills the air with the sounds of the season.
Visitors can also bring home keepsake photos, while commemorative holiday ornaments and sparkling “butterfly wings” for children will be available for purchase in the Butterfly Treasures Gift Shop.
“Christmas in the Rainforest” takes place November 23rd-December 28 from 9-5pm daily. Visit the website to view all special activities.
