Desert Diamonds: Scottsdale’s 75th Anniversary
The arts have been part of the fabric of Scottsdale since its beginning, when Helen Scott, wife of founder Winfield Scott, decided that integrating the arts and culture was going to be important for their community. In 1951, Scottsdale was officially incorporated as a city, and for its diamond anniversary, Scottsdale Arts selected these artworks from the city’s Fine Art Collection, to show our history, and celebrate the importance of the arts in Scottsdale.
The works on display reflect Scottsdale’s creative and cultural history through photography, painting, sculpture, and more. These artwork donations, commissions, and purchases represent Scottsdale Arts’ dedication to supporting local artists, and they show artistic happenings, events, and growth throughout the decades. We are proud to bring the arts to everyone who lives, works, and plays in Scottsdale, and we look forward to a creative and inspiring future for all.
