Arizona’s Southwest experience is enriched by the intrigue of ancient cultures of the Native Americans that inhabited this area long before modern man. Many of the indigenous icons used in traditional and contemporary art works offer clues to historic cultural stories.  Many beliefs and rituals are still practiced and are reflected in the Native arts produced today.

During this Gold Palette ArtWalk, you'll find a variety of special activities:

  • Galleries featuring Native artists and their best work
  • A contemporary Native American fashion show featuring designs from Loren Aragon of Aconav. Aragon is hailed as one of the brightest stars in contemporary Native American deisgn. The fashion show will take place at 7 p.m and 8 p.m. in front of Casa de Artistas (at Main and Marshall Way).
  • Marshall Shore, Arizona's Hip Historian will be highliting and sharing the life's work of Lloyd Kiva, a pioneer of modern Native American Fashion design.
  • YellowBird Productions, who specializes in cultural presentations that celebrate the unique spirit of the American Indian, will perform throughout the Arts District.
