In 2022, the DT Horses Western Derby will pay out $230,000 to its competitors across all classes and divisions. In the Derby, riders can show 4- and 5-year-old horses and compete in herd work, rein work, and cow work, earning a score in each event. The highest composite score across all events will determine the champions for each division. 

Another highlight of the DT Horses Western Derby is the Holy Cow Performance Horses' CD Survivor Open Bridle Spectacular. The event features many of the industry’s most seasoned and successful horses in the bridle vying for $25,000 in added money through herd, rein, and cow works. And, with $5,000 added by Holy Cow Performance Horses, the CD Survivor Bridle Horse Super Spectacular adds a roping element to create a four-event format.
