Immerse yourself in the timeless allure of the Western genre with the “Still in the Saddle” Film Series at Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West, an exceptional program that complements the museum’s signature exhibition Still in the Saddle: A New History of the Hollywood Western. This curated series celebrates the evolution of Western cinema — from classic narratives of rugged frontier life to modern reinterpretations that re-examine America’s most iconic genre — all presented in the museum’s elegant screening space.
Each Sunday screening invites guests to experience beloved films that shaped Hollywood and continue to resonate with audiences today.
From May 17 to June 21 (Every Sunday at 2:00 PM):
- Little Big Man (1970) | May 17 — A sweeping, satirical journey through the American frontier.
- A Man Called Horse (1970) | May 24 — A powerful depiction of cultural transformation and survival.
- Ulzana’s Raid (1972) | May 31 - A gritty, unflinching Western about tracking an Apache war chief’s violent escape through 1880s Arizona.
