Join us at OdySea Aquarium for our first-ever "SOS" (summer of sharks). We have the largest and most diverse collection of sharks in Arizona, with more 40 sharks and nine different species living in the Aquarium.  To celebrate “Shark Week” and the magnificent and mysterious shark, OdySea Aquarium will be offering a variety of special programs, activities, and educational opportunities for guests that are free with admission throughout the month of July. 

Event activities will include:

  • Shark fun facts at exhibits throughout the Aquarium
  • Shark Feeds scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 12 p.m. at Shark Waters
  • Shark Feeds scheduled on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 3:30 p.m. at Deep Ocean
  • Live Elasmobranch presentation about rays and sharks at Deep Ocean Theater at 10 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 1:45 p.m., 4:45 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. daily
  • Shark Month Photos at Kids' Cove inside a shark jaw
  • Shark Scavenger Hunt starting at the upper level at SeaTREK to collect Shark Trading Cards
  • Limited Time Shark Photo from Magic Memories
  • Shark-themed cupcakes at the Lighthouse Café
  • Shark Lectures on select Wednesdays (July 11, 18 and 25)

Sharks4Kids also returns July 16-20. This week features ducational programs about Shark Tagging at Deep Ocean Theater; Shark Conservation at Shark Window; Norman the Nurse Shark Book Reading at Deep Ocean Theater; and Mock Shark Tagging for children.  These programs will be offered three times daily.  

Shark Lab will be available July 16-20, featuring a one-hour encounter and information about the conservation and anatomy of sharks.  This class is limited to 12 people and will be offered for an additional price.  Guests will receive a Junior Shark Biologist certificate at the end of class.

Shark Feeds Live! (available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) is 45-minute experience limited to 12 people will include shark food prep, a shark feeding process, and information about sharks for an additional price.

Shark Evolution:  Teeth through Time presented by Casey Brose on July 25 will include a one-hour lecture ending with a tour of Food Preparation and Shark Waters.  The program will include cookies, water, and juice for an additional price.
