ZZ Top at Talking Stick Resort

ABOUT THE SHOW
That Little Ol’ Band from Texas has been delivering their signature blend of rock, blues, and boogie to millions of fans for over 50 years. With unmistakable iconography—beards, hot rods, spinning guitars, and that legendary keychain—ZZ TOP has become a global symbol of rock 'n' roll cool.

Formed in Houston in 1969 from two rival bands—Billy Gibbons’ Moving Sidewalks and Frank Beard and Dusty Hill’s American Blues—the band broke through nationally with Tres Hombres in 1973, featuring the enduring hit “La Grange.” A decade later, 1983’s Eliminator brought a tech-infused twist to their blues roots, spawning MTV-era classics like “Sharp Dressed Man” and “Legs,” and earning Diamond certification with over 10 million copies sold.

ZZ TOP’s original lineup—Gibbons, Hill, and Beard—remained unchanged for over five decades until Dusty Hill’s passing in 2021. Elwood Francis, handpicked by Dusty himself, continues on bass, carrying the legacy forward.

They’ve toured the globe, inspired generations, and even earned a Grammy nomination for their documentary That Little Ol’ Band From Texas. Through it all, their guiding mantra remains: Tone. Taste. Tenacity.
