Cave Creek is a vibrant community where the true western experience still exists. Nestled in scenic desert foothills north of Scottsdale, the original town was built by miners in the 1870's on ancient Hohokam ruins when gold was discovered. Today, a wide variety of outdoor recreational activities including golf, horseback riding, and desert mountain biking and hiking are available. There are several upscale western clothing and furniture stores as well as a thriving arts community which includes numerous fine art galleries and studios. However, the town is also very well known for all the famous saloons situated along Cave Creek Road.
