Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament today announces the launch of its all-new show, which is the attraction’s first new show since 2017 and will be rolling out at all 10 castles nationwide.
Its launch coincides with important milestones for Medieval Times, as the popular attraction celebrates its 40th anniversary and the Arizona castle’s five-year anniversary this year.
The new show centers around a powerful alliance between a king and a queen, each leading their own respective kingdoms who unite to usher in an era of peace. Guest feedback heavily influenced the development of the action-packed new storyline, which features new characters, new stunts and new twist and turns, while still providing fans with what they love most about Medieval Times – heart-pounding jousting, intense sword fights between knights, skilled horsemanship and falconry, all enjoyed over a delicious, four-course feast.
“Producing a new show is a huge undertaking, from creating a new script, to choreographing each scene and perfectly synchronizing the timing of music and lighting, along with food service,” said Jim Collins, Director of Stunt Choreography for Medieval Times. “We’ve been working on this new show for the past two years and have conducted extensive knight and horse training to pack as much action as possible into the storyline. We’re excited to bring it to life and have no doubt it will have our guests on the edge of their seats.”
In addition to the riveting plot, the new show includes a number of upgrades that promise to elevate the entire entertainment experience. The musical score is a compilation of the best original musical scores from past shows, which immerse the viewer and take them on a journey through time. Technological improvements to the sound and light effects create seamless transitions and enhance the dynamic dimensions of each scene. The new show also features all new custom-designed and hand-sewn costumes created at the Medieval Times costume shop in Dallas, as well as all new costumes for the majestic horses that are the equine stars of the show. “The process of rolling out a new show is an exciting time inside our Castle. We have hundreds of performers and backstage personnel, 24 horses and two falcons who will all participate in learning new routines to deliver a high-quality production for our guests,” said Kevin Gadbery, General Manager. “We're thrilled to simultaneously celebrate our fifth anniversary and a new show.”
Medieval Times Scottsdale is the newest castle, which opened in September 2019. Fans can experience the current and longest-running Medieval Times show until Aug. 28. Tickets to the new show can be purchased online now at medievaltimes.com/scottsdale.
