Get down with recording artist Ray Herndon and family at Handlebar J, where live music plays every night of the week, oftentimes courtesy of Ray’s band. And if your two-step needs a little polishing, check out the free dance lessons on Thursday nights.
Cowboy-style fun goes high-tech at Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row. The 360-degree stage hosts local and national acts, including the occasional show by Dierks himself. A massive 24-foot television carries sporting events and entertainment. And . . . hold onto your Stetsons . . . every booth features three different beer taps and a liquor tap, so you can enjoy your suds and shots with no waiting.
Tame your hunger pangs at Rawhide Steakhouse with cowboy grub and all the fixin’s. Start with an order of Rawhide Rattlesnake (deep fried and served with jalapeno croquettes and ranch dressing), then loosen your belt a notch and move on to a slab of beef ribs with Wicked Tango Whiskey Barbecue Glaze. While you’re there, to check out the Six Gun Theater or test your skills on the mechanical bull.
In addition to daytime rides, this family-owned and -operated stable offers monthly Moonlight Trail Rides. You’ll saddle up as the sun sets, then listen to the coyotes sing and discover the desert under a whole new light!
