While fall in Scottsdale always means cool nights and perfectly pleasant days, there’s something new to experience this year—and it’s got plenty of tricks and treats. The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess resort has transformed into Pumpkin Nights #AtThePrincess, a fall festival with haunts and harvest classics to spice up the season.

Pumpkin Decor

Guests can expect brand-new attractions, themed dining and plenty of pumpkins, from mini-pies to a Great Pumpkin so big you can fit the whole family in for a photo op. Begin with a stroll through Haunted Plaza, where trees sparkle in an orange glow and a spooky cast of animated characters will welcome you in song.

For refreshments, Brewfest at The Plaza Bar serves up Oktoberfest-style favorites, with pretzels, schnitzel and German beers from local brewing companies. Or you can follow your nose around the corner to Patches Pumpkin Farm to enjoy roasted nuts picnic-style. The relaxing space is strung with beautiful lights and arranged for sipping themed cocktails and hot cider while staying socially distanced. Guests can pick pumpkins to take home, or let an artist carve their magic on the perfect jack-o’-lantern. Don’t forget to snap selfie with the Farm’s vintage trucks or shop the pop-up store for goodies.

Pumpkin Plaza is home to the photogenic Great Pumpkin as well as quick bites under the trellis at Spookeasy Libations. Save room for dessert: Pumpkin Patch Pie House serves munchable mini-pies in classic flavors like apple and pumpkin.

As guests proceed, a different sort of magic settles over the night. Twinkling lanterns dot the water and a horn blows during the Lanterns of Hope ceremony, a community event that invites guests to decorate lanterns with healing messages before they release them into the waters of Sunset Beach. Launches take place throughout the evening.

Nearby you’ll find a festival atmosphere at the sprawling Jack O’Lantern Lawn, where thrills like the Yo-Yo Swing Chair and the spinning Sizzler light up the night. Little ones can brave a hay maze and take a swing on the Spidermania ride. Families and friends will love to gather around the lawn’s fire pits, where the pastime of toasting s’mores and soaking up Scottsdale’s cool fall evenings can be enjoyed. And if you’re out late for tricks, watch the skies for a treat. A fireworks display dazzles guests every night at 8 p.m.

Princess Pumpkin Spa

Throughout the season, Pumpkin Nights adds spice to other offerings at the resort. Pampering at Well & Being Spa includes a pumpkin mini-facial or a toasty marshmallow manicure. The resort’s restaurants host culinary classes on select dates in October, so foodies can try new flavors and learn how to fill their table with a tasty fall feast. With an overnight stay at the resort, the fun doesn’t stop after the festival. Guests who book the Sip, Savor & Spice package receive VIP Express Pass admission to Pumpkin Nights, plus $100 daily resort credit.

Pumpkin Nights #AtThePrincess takes place every evening from 5-10 p.m. (and 4-10 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays!). Self-parking is sold out for the rest of the season but you can still experience the event with an overnight stay or with an advanced restaurant reservation.
