Scottsdale's Outdoor Events
Trade in your mufflers and mittens for shirtsleeves and sunscreen – it’s outdoor event season in Scottsdale. Every winter, the city hosts some of the nation’s most popular special events, including collector car auctions, cultural festivals, horse shows and professional sports. And with plenty of blue skies and daytime highs hovering near 72 degrees (22 C), the weather’s just right for outdoor diversions of any kind.
Here’s a sneak peek at some of the special events coming to Scottsdale this winter:
Barrett-Jackson rolls into WestWorld of Scottsdale with an unparalleled selection of collector cars as well as an opening-night gala and a marketplace filled with automobilia. At press time, the 2017 docket includes a 1928 Packard 443 Convertible, a 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk and a 1964 Jaguar XKE Roadster. Click here for more information.
Explore the Native American cultures of the Southwest through music, dance, art and food. These free noontime festivals at Scottsdale Civic Center Park feature inter-tribal powwow dancing, world-championship level hoop dancing and artist demonstrations. Click here for more information.

The Greatest Show on Grass” draws the largest crowds on the PGA TOUR to the TPC Scottsdale for a week of championship golf. And the fun doesn’t stop there. Since 1955, the annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show has set the pace in the Arabian horse world. This year, nearly 2,400 of the world’s finest horses, trainers and breeders will converge on Scottsdale for a week of unmatched equestrian competition. The show also features an international food court and an expansive retail marketplace where you’ll find everything from equestrian gear to fashions, jewelry, art and more. Every March, Cactus League Spring Training brings MLB action to Scottsdale! The San Francisco Giants play ball at Scottsdale Stadium, while the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks take to the field at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick.
