RESORT ROUNDUP
- A $110 million renovation at Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch is well underway, with the recent opening of a new pool complex that includes luxurious cabanas and two new poolside restaurants and bars with expanded lounging areas. The resort has tapped celebrity chef and James Beard Award nominee Richard Blais to create six original new dining concepts for the resort that will be coming soon. Upon completion of all renovations, the resort will be unveiled as Arizona's first Grand Hyatt property.
- Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia’s Citrus Path IPA elevates any summer stay! Huss Brewing Co., a local family-owned brewery, collaborated with the resort on the IPA, which is infused with the essence of Andalusian oranges handpicked on the Omni Montelucia property. Sip the new suds beside one of the resort’s three sparkling resort pools, surrounded by towering palms, citrus trees and stunning views of Camelback Mountain.
- The Scottsdale Resort & Spa, a Curio Collection Resort by Hilton, recently completed a $40 million, property-wide renovation that included refurbishing all guestrooms and public spaces, including Luna Spa. In addition, the resort debuted four new dining concepts: La Fogata, serving modern Sonoran cuisine with global influences; The Madam, a cozy, hidden speakeasy specializing in classic cocktails and elevated small bites; The Social Boardroom, an inviting space that includes board games and a golf simulator to enjoy alongside pub favorites like sliders and wings; and Barnaby’s Café & Wine Bar, a grab-and-go-style coffee and lunch spot.
DOWNTIME DIVERSIONS
- Wonderspaces Arizona debuted two new exhibits this summer, “Well Wishes My Love, Your Love” and “Blooms.” “Well Wishes My Love, Your Love” is a non-verbal, abstract, short film by animation filmmaker Gabriel Garble that follows the dreamlike quest of a boy taking on a bizarre favor involving the prosthetic arm of his beloved orphaned friend. “Blooms” features 3D-printed sculptures designed to animate when spun under a strobe light in order to resemble the geometry found in nature and many plant forms.
- Located in Old Town Scottsdale, new hotspot Lane Park combines the excitement of great games and the joy of exceptional dining. Whether you’re challenging friends to a game of Duckpin Bowling, testing your aim at Axe Throwing, or gliding across the ice in a game of Curling, Lane Park’s diverse range of activities ensures endless entertainment.
