Once the home and art studio of famed cowboy artist Alonzo "Lon" Megargee, the culinary centerpiece of The Hermosa Inn is LON's at the Hermosa, a celebrated Four Diamond restaurant renowned for its artful American cuisine.
Offering a bold and contemporary take on the multitude of foods originating in the western hemisphere, age-old cooking methods of smoking, roasting and wood-grilling are employed along with European techniques to create artful cuisine utilizing cutting-edge culinary trends. An organic garden located just outside the kitchen provide fragrant herbs, citrus and vegetables for a variety of the dishes on the LON's menu, in addition to featuring organic produce from local farmers. The chef's tasting menu (offered every Friday and Saturday) changes weekly and "cool dining" is offered in the underground wine cellar during the summer months (only available by calling 72 hours in advance).
The lushly landscaped, expansive patio boasts breathtaking views of nearby Camelback Mountain with a massive wood-burning fireplace and stunning stone fountain; the subterranean wine cellar holds the contents of LON's award-winning 1000-bottle wine list and the decor exudes the resort's luxury desert feel through the use of traditional Southwestern architecture, adobe bricks, wood beams, hand-painted Mexican tile and many one-of-a-kind embellishments reflecting its artistic heritage.
