Welcome to Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch! The historic Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch is one of the most scenic guest ranches in the Southwest and one of Arizona's hidden treasures. On the Ranch, located just East of Scottsdale in the Tonto National Forest, on the banks of the Salt River - life is simple. Sun-filled days, exciting adventures, idyllic star-lit nights and good company combine to create an authentic Arizona experience.
Our 20 rustic cabins with panoramic views of a wilderness made famous by the writings of Zane Grey are comfortable and quaint featuring colorful Mexican serape curtains, hand-painted Monterey oak furniture, and western art. To preserve the serene atmosphere of the ranch, there are no TVs, phones, radios, or clocks in the cabins. The main ranch house has a wide porch overlooking a shaded lawn with a full view of the imposing Bulldog cliffs. The central feature of the Living Room is a four-sided hand-crafted slate rock fireplace with a built-in old-fashioned bread warmer and the dining room has a giant saguaro cactus skeleton which used to stand at the bottom of Saguaro Lake.
During your stay, you must experience the “Old West” the real cowboy way – on horseback. You’ll find some of the best horseback riding in all of Arizona is right on our doorstep. Our experienced wranglers and horses will make sure you have both a fun and a safe ride. There is no better way to enjoy the cool water and marvel at the beautiful Tonto National Forest than to go rafting or kayaking on the Lower Salt River! As you float down the river below thousand-foot cliffs and beside majestic saguaros in the Sonoran Desert, keep your eyes open. You could see wild horses, deer, great blue herons, osprey, bald eagles, and other native wildlife.
