The Scottsdale Gallery Association is a non-profit 501(c)(6) organization founded in 1989 by professional local art dealers to promote the visual arts and to promote art education in the City of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Internationally known as a mecca for art collectors, Scottsdale is home to more than 100 galleries. The member galleries of the Scottsdale Gallery Association are dedicated to exhibiting the finest visual art from all over the world by offering a dazzling and diverse array of work in a wide variety of media. Members strive to make art accessible to all, from the serious art collector to the casual art appreciator. The Scottsdale Gallery Association is also the host of the Scottsdale ArtWalk - "America's Original ArtWalk", an ongoing tradition since 1975.
Galleries are open on a year round basis, however, some galleries do operate on an abbreviated schedule during the summer. The Scottsdale ArtWalk takes place every Thursday evening from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
In the heart of the Scottsdale Arts District Main Street west of Scottsdale Road and Marshall Way north of Indian School Road.
Works by hundreds of fine artists can be found in galleries that are open daily and during ArtWalk every Thursday night. Free parking, horse drawn carriage rides (during cooler months), great restaurants, near the Scottsdale Center for the Arts, Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMOCA) and Scottsdale Artists' School.
