Labor Day Weekend in Scottsdale 2023

Labor Day is, ironically, a day you typically don’t have to work. So why not spend it in Scottsdale where you can celebrate the American workforce and the traditional end of summer with sunny skies, delicious food and drinks, and plenty of fun for all ages!

TAKE A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE

Let’s Roll Summer at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess
extends through Labor Day weekend with ‘80s- and ‘90s-themed fun for the whole family. Skate at an outdoor roller rink, game your way through a vintage arcade and, on the weekends, get jiggy with it at the resort’s Let’s Glo Pool Parties, Dive-In Movies, and Saturday-night fireworks.

For more retro fun, head for the newly renovated Scottsdale Civic Center where the Rewind ‘80s Night extravaganza will transport you back in time to the days of neon colors, big hair and unforgettable memories. Live music, a Neon Dance Party, retro arcade games, selfie stations and food trucks promise fun for all ages! This blast from the past takes place Sept. 2 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

PARTY BY THE POOL

Group of friends enjoying summer in Scottsdale

At Hotel Valley Ho’s OH Pool the holiday weekend poolside fun starts on Friday with the Chad Rubin Band. Deejays Pulse and Adrian Michaels take over Saturday through Monday, spinning tunes that keep the good summer vibes flowing all weekend long. Entertainment at OH Pool runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day, and daybed and cabana rentals are available.

More sun-drenched fun is on tap at Andaz Scottsdale, where deejays set the perfect mood for enjoying refreshing drinks and delectable bites from the Turquoise Pool Bar. Check into one of the Andaz’s posh bungalows for the three-day holiday weekend or escape for a few hours with a day pass or cabana rental through Resort Pass.

At the W Scottsdale Hotel in Old Town, the adults-only WET Deck Pool Party boasts bold beats, iconic cocktails and Arizona’s only chilled pool – perfect for a sunny holiday weekend! White attire is suggested for Friday’s Blanc de Blancs Labor Day Celebration, which runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday feature deejays and VIP bottle service from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Waves of sound, light and good energy will be flowing at Talking Stick Resort’s WAVE pool party on Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m. This exciting event features L.A.-based deejay Jauz and special guest Drezo.

The Arizona Black Rodeo has been one of the “Hottest Shows on Dirt” since 2011. Each year, this exciting event attracts more than 9,000 rodeo fans to WestWorld of Scottsdale for exciting competitions, including bronc and bull riding, barrel racing and steer wrestling. There’s even mutton busting and calf roping for the little cowboys and cowgirls! This year’s event takes place Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. and Sept. 2 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.

EXPLORE THE DESERT AFTER DARK

Desert Botanical Garden
