Labor Day is, ironically, a day you typically don’t have to work. So why not spend it in Scottsdale where you can celebrate the American workforce and the traditional end of summer with sunny skies, delicious food and drinks, and plenty of fun for all ages!
RELAX BY THE POOL

With more than 70 resorts and hotels in Scottsdale, finding a pool to lounge by is not a difficult task. Secure a day pass at some of Scottsdale’s most popular pools, or elevate your poolside daycation with a daybed or cabana rental.
Enjoy a classic, family-friendly dive in film under the stars while lounging by the pool at The Scottsdale Resort & Spa, Curio Collection by Hilton on Saturday, August 30 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. This perfect blend of relaxation and entertainment sets the stage for a magical summer night for the whole family.
For poolside celebrations this Labor Day Weekend, enjoy live music, refreshing drinks and delectable bites at W Scottsdale, Hotel Valley Ho, Mountain Shadows, Hotel Adeline, Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia and Caesars Republic Scottsdale.
EXPLORE THE DESERT AFTER DARK

One of summertime’s most popular local events, Flashlight Nights at the Desert Botanical Garden runs ever Saturday through September 13 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Grab your flashlight and explore the magical landscape of the Garden’s pathways in search of night-blooming cactus and nocturnal desert critters. The event also features a nighttime farmers’ market where you can pick up local honey, handmade soaps, crafts and more.
DIVE INTO THE WILD WEST

Wild West Summer at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess extends through Labor Day weekend offering the whole family five-star comfort with a taste of frontier spirit! From the moment you arrive, young wranglers will be greeted with special surprises at check-in, setting the stage for a summer packed with excitement. Cast a line in our fishing lagoon, gather ‘round for campfire storytelling, and take part in high-energy poolside games led by our spirited Fairmont Fun team. When the sun sets, kick back with Dive-In Movies under the stars and watch the night sky come alive with a spectacular fireworks display every Saturday.
The Arizona Black Rodeo has been one of the “Hottest Shows on Dirt” since 2011. Each year, this exciting event attracts more than 9,000 rodeo fans to WestWorld of Scottsdale for exciting competitions, including bronc and bull riding, barrel racing and steer wrestling. There’s even mutton busting and calf roping for the little cowboys and cowgirls! This year’s event takes place August 29 at 7 p.m. and August 30 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
UNIQUE SUMMER GOLF

Happy hour and a golf simulator, yes please! Join The Scottsdale Resort & Spa, Curio Collection by Hilton in the recently renovated Social Boardroom on August 29 and August 30 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for food and drink specials along with a chance to play on their golf simulator.
Play a round of night golf at Arizona’s only fully lit, 18-hole executive course. Located just minutes from Old Town Scottsdale, Grass Clippings Rolling Hills offers tee times as late as 10:50 p.m., you can tee it up well after sunset and make the most of night’s cooler temps. Loosen up your swing on Toptracer Range, grab a bite at Glenrosa, then hit the course for a round of golf under the stars – it’s an experience you’ll never forget.
Use the long weekend as an excuse to practice your putting. Putting World is geared toward serious golfers looking to hone their putting skills. The course changes daily by shifting the location of each hole’s tee, which is indicated by a red dot beaming down on the turf from lasers located in the ceiling.
