How To Celebrate Labor Day Weekend In Scottsdale

Labor Day is, ironically, a day you typically don’t have to work. So why not spend it in Scottsdale where you can celebrate the American workforce and the traditional end of summer with sunny skies, delicious food and drinks, and plenty of fun for all ages!

RELAX BY THE POOL

With more than 70 resorts and hotels in Scottsdale, finding a pool to lounge by is not a difficult task. Secure a day pass at some of Scottsdale’s most popular pools, or elevate your poolside daycation with a daybed or cabana rental.

For poolside celebrations this Labor Day Weekend, enjoy live music, refreshing drinks and delectable bites at W Scottsdale, Hotel Valley Ho, Mountain Shadows, Hotel Adeline, Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia and Caesars Republic Scottsdale

EXPLORE THE DESERT AFTER DARK

Desert Botanical Garden

One of summertime’s most popular local events, Flashlight Nights at the Desert Botanical Garden runs ever Saturday through September 26 from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Grab your flashlight and explore the magical landscape of the Garden’s pathways in search of night-blooming cactus and nocturnal desert critters. You can also see 12 lighted installations that are part of the Garden After Dark Experience, beat the heat with cool Sunset Snacks, and grab a wand at the Bubble Cart to make playful shapes as you explore.

RESORT LABOR DAY CELEBRATIONS

You can't miss Labor Day Weekend at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess as they offer the whole family five-star comfort with tons of fun events and activities! Cast a line in the fishing lagoon, gather ‘round for campfire storytelling, and take part in high-energy poolside games led by the spirited Fairmont Fun team. When the sun sets, kick back with Dive-In Movies under the stars and watch the night sky come alive with a spectacular fireworks display every Saturday through Sept. 5.

The fun continues with Fireworks at The Grand Hyatt Scottsdale. Celebrate your day off with an unforgettable evening as fireworks light up the Scottsdale sky. The show begins at 9 p.m., but we recommend arriving early to claim the perfect viewing spot. Gather your friends and family and enjoy one of Scottsdale’s favorite summer traditions.

UNIQUE SUMMER GOLF

The Social Boardroom at The Scottsdale Resort & Spa

Happy hour and a golf simulator, yes please! Join The Scottsdale Resort & Spa, Curio Collection by Hilton in their Social Boardroom available to play daily from 5 p.m. thru 7 p.m. for food and drink specials along with a chance to play on their golf simulator.

Play a round of night golf at Arizona’s only fully lit, 18-hole executive course. Located just minutes from Old Town Scottsdale, Grass Clippings Rolling Hills offers tee times as late as 10:50 p.m., you can tee it up well after sunset and make the most of night’s cooler temps.
