For fans — golfers and non-golfers alike — the annual WM Phoenix Open (WMPO) truly lives up to its nickname, the “Greatest Show on Grass.” In addition to welcoming some of the biggest names in golf, the tournament is the best-attended event on the PGA TOUR, drawing more than 500,000 enthusiastic spectators each year.
As one of the first stops on the PGA TOUR calendar, the WM Phoenix Open kicks off the season with unmatched energy. Nowhere else do fans play such a starring role — especially at the legendary 16th hole, affectionately dubbed “The Coliseum,” where the crowd’s roar has made it the loudest hole in golf.
The weeklong event returns to TPC Scottsdale from Feb. 2–8, 2026.
Whether you’re there to cheer with friends (don’t miss the 16th hole!) or to catch world-class golf up close, read on for our insider tips to make the most of your WM Phoenix Open experience.

- Traffic & arrival: Because of the large crowd, allocate extra time for travel and shuttle boarding.
- Rideshare option is strong: Parking is free at the lots listed above, but rideshare pickup/drop-off at Lot R is efficient for avoiding some traffic.

TELL ME ABOUT THE 16TH HOLE
Known as the loudest hole in golf, the par-3 16th at TPC Scottsdale’s Stadium Course is unlike anything else on the PGA Tour. Enclosed by grandstands packed with thousands of energized fans, this iconic hole delivers a stadium-like atmosphere that’s equal parts golf and spectacle. The excitement peaks during Saturday’s third round, when securing a general admission seat can mean a long—and lively—wait.
CAN I PURCHASE TICKETS WHEN I ARRIVE?
On-site ticket purchase may be available at the tournament entrance and participating partner retail outlets — check the official site or with the tournament for current availability.
CAN I BRING A BAG INTO THE GAME?
No opaque bags larger than 6″ x 6″ x 6″ — including carrying cases, backpacks, camera bags, and chair bags — are permitted through the gates. Clear plastic, vinyl, or other see-through bags may not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″. Bags larger than these dimensions will not be allowed. You can view the full list of non-approved bags here.
WHEN DO THE GATES OPEN?
The gates open at 7:00 a.m. (local time) daily. On Friday only, an additional entrance opens at 7:30 a.m..
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO GO?
Our favorite days to attend are Wednesday, Thursday, or Sunday. You might expect Sunday’s final round to draw the biggest crowds, but it’s actually one of the calmer days — many fans are home getting ready for the Super Bowl. And don’t forget, admission is free on Monday and Tuesday!
IS THERE FOOD AT THE TOURNAMENT?
Yes — there is food available throughout the grounds. Concession stands are marked on the map. Most food vendors operate cashless payment methods, but please check on-site for current payment options.
WHAT IS THE COORS LIGHT BIRDS NEST?
The Coors Light Birds Nest is one of the premier concert experiences of tournament week, featuring major headliners Wednesday through Saturday. This 21-and-over event offers an electric atmosphere that sells out quickly each year, so don’t wait to get your tickets. Gates open at 3 p.m., with the headliner taking the stage around 8:30 p.m. each night.
