The health and safety of our visitors and residents is of the utmost importance to us, and we will continue to bring you the most up-to-date information and resources as they become available.

Scottsdale is Open

Select Scottsdale businesses are open in accordance with stringent guidelines established by Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey and the Arizona Department of Health Services designed to minimize the risk of COVID-19. For detailed information from the Department of Health Services, click here.

SCOTTSDALE VISITORS

HOW CAN I PROTECT MYSELF AND OTHERS IN SCOTTSDALE?

Effective June 19, 2020, face coverings are mandatory in Scottsdale. Face coverings are required in public places including grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, retail stores, special events and public transit.  Click here for more detailed information.

In addition to covering your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover when around others, please follow Maricopa County Department of Public Health and CDC recommendations to keep yourself and those around you safe, including:

  • Avoid close contact by staying at least 6 feet away from others.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap is unavailable.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Be alert for symptoms and stay home if you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

WHAT'S OPEN IN SCOTTSDALE?

Though many Scottsdale businesses have reopened since the shutdown, some remain closed or are limiting their services. We recommend calling ahead to any business you plan to visit to confirm that they are open and to learn about the specific safety policies and procedures in effect. Bars, gyms, movie theaters, tubing and waterparks are closed throughout Arizona through the end of July.

  • Hotels & Resorts: Several Scottsdale properties are currently open and ready to welcome guests with safe, clean rooms and plenty of warm Southwestern hospitality. For information on available accommodations, click here. Pools also are open at hotels and resorts, though groups larger than 10 are prohibited from congregating together in or near the pool. According to the CDC, with proper operation and maintenance, there is no evidence that the virus can be spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, spas or water play areas.
  • Restaurants: Dine-in service, with reduced occupancy and enhanced sanitation measures, is available, though many of Scottsdale’s finest restaurants are continuing to focus on curbside pick-up.
  • Retail: Retail businesses, including independent retailers and shopping centers, reopened with proper social distancing and sanitation measures. Please call ahead to find out if appointments are required.
  • Attractions & Recreation: Scottsdale’s attractions and recreation companies are continuing to reopen. While some remain closed, most attractions are offering fun virtual tours and programs that you can enjoy online.
  • Golf Courses: Most Scottsdale golf courses remained open for play during the shutdown, however clubhouse amenities may still be limited.

Please note that the Scottsdale Tourism Information Center at Scottsdale Fashion Square is closed until further notice, however you may chat with a destination expert by clicking the “Chat with Us” button in the lower-right corner of this screen or by calling 800-782-1117.

*Weather Advisory: As local temperatures heat up, please be safe – limit outdoor activities to early morning or evening hours on hot days, take plenty of water with you on outings and always stay hydrated. Traveling with pets? Make sure they always have fresh water available, never leave them in a hot car, and to prevent burns, do not walk them on hot pavement. Dogs also are banned from area trails by law when temperatures exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37.7 Celsius). For more outdoor safety tips, check out our Hiking, Biking & Trail Guide.

WHAT ARE SCOTTSDALE BUSINESSES DOING TO KEEP ME SAFE?

Your safety is top-of-mind for Scottsdale business owners. Local businesses have implemented state-mandated guidelines for occupancy limits, physical distancing, and enhanced cleaning and sanitation procedures.

Please call individual businesses for detailed information on the steps they are taking to protect you and employees and to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

If you are traveling to Scottsdale through Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, please note that effective June 1, 2020, the airport will require all members of the public entering airport facilities to wear a face covering.
