Scottsdale Reopening News & Resources

At Experience Scottsdale, we empathize with everyone who has been impacted directly or indirectly by the COVID-19 virus. As we chart a course toward reopening and recovery, the health and safety of our visitors and residents is of the utmost importance to us. We will continue to bring you the most up-to-date information and resources as they become available.

Scottsdale is Open

On May 15, 2020, Arizona's stay-at-home order expired. All businesses are allowed to reopen in accordance with stringent guidelines established by Gov. Doug Ducey and the Arizona Department of Health Services designed to minimize the risk of COVID-19. For detailed information from the Arizona Department of Health Services, click here.

SCOTTSDALE VISITORS

WHAT’S OPENING AND WHEN?

Gov. Ducey’s plan for the state’s reopening allowed many businesses to begin providing modified services on May 4, 2020. Though many have opened since then, some remain closed for the time being. We recommend calling ahead to any business you plan to visit to confirm that they are open and to learn about the specific safety policies and procedures in effect.

  • Hotels & Resorts: Several Scottsdale properties are currently open and ready to welcome guests with safe, clean rooms and plenty of warm Southwestern hospitality. For information on available accommodations, click here. Pools also are open at hotels and resorts. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, with proper operation and maintenance, there is no evidence that the virus can be spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, spas or water play areas.
  • Restaurants: Dine-in service, with reduced occupancy and enhanced sanitation measures, began May 11, 2020. If you would prefer to sample the area’s culinary delights from your home or hotel room, many of Scottsdale’s finest restaurants are continuing to offer curbside pick-up.
  • Retail: Beginning May 8, 2020, retail businesses resumed partial openings that incorporated proper social distancing and sanitation measures. This included independent retailers and shopping centers. Please call the business to find out if appointments are required.
  • Attractions & Recreation: Scottsdale’s attractions and recreation companies began phased-in openings on May 15, 2020. While some remain closed, most attractions are offering fun virtual tours and programs that you can enjoy online.
  • Golf Courses: Most Scottsdale golf courses remained open for play during the shutdown, however clubhouse amenities were subject to the safety guidelines and timelines for restaurants and retail.

Please note that the Scottsdale Tourism Information Center at Scottsdale Fashion Square is closed until further notice, however you may chat with a destination expert by clicking the “Chat with Us” button in the lower-right corner of this screen or by calling 800-782-1117.
