What to Wear for a Night Out in Scottsdale

With hundreds of restaurants, cocktail bars, and clubs throughout the city, it’s no wonder Scottsdale has become the place to be after hours. Once you figure out where to go, the next question is “what do I wear?” Here are a few tips on what to wear (and where to find it!) for the best night-out experience in Scottsdale!

FOR THE CLUBGOER

The great part about the Old Town Entertainment District is that all the clubs are just steps away from each other. With hotspots like Dierks Bentley Whiskey RowEl Hefe, Riot House, Bottled Blonde, and more, the opportunities to dance the night away are endless – and so are your outfit options.

My recommendation: Be comfortable. Nothing ruins a night more than blistering feet and constantly having to adjust yourself in the bathroom. For the perfect club outfit, make your way to Scottsdale Fashion Square – where you’ll find stores like Nordstrom, Johnny Was, Windsor and One 51 to help make your look for the night. You can never go wrong with a classic little black dress or collared shirt and chinos.

FOR THE COCKTAIL LOUNGE ENTHUSIAST

The fun part about going to a cocktail bar like AZ88, Jade Bar, Beverly on Main, or the Living Room at the W, is that you get to dress up. Whether you’re going out with a group of friends or for a late-night date, you’re going to want to look as fresh as your grapefruit Paloma.

My recommendation: Dress it up but keep it simple. Shop at stores like Express, Free People and Anthropologie (also located in Scottsdale Fashion Square) for the perfect dress, pair of heels or that clean-cut button up – because it’s about looking polished but not overdressed.

FOR THE LOW-KEY CASUAL BAR HOPPER

The key to dressing up for a casual night out is achieving the right balance of comfort and style. Whether you’re popping over to Sip Coffee & Beer House for a craft brew, enjoying the live music at Rusty Spur, or singing karaoke at The Grapevine, you’re going to want to be comfy and relaxed.

My recommendation: Stay casual. Hit the shops on 5th Ave in Old Town to find the trendiest pair of jeans to rock with that clean t-shirt. If you’re wanting to dress it up a bit, grab a faux leather jacket and accessorize.

Last but not least – and no matter the occasion – if you're looking to make a fashion statement in something one-off and unique, check out the couture and accessories at Old Town's Vintage by Misty and Fashion by Robert Black. Both offer exquisite, new-to-you designer fashions that are truly one of a kind.
