A Bar for Every Night of the Week
Who says you have to wait until the weekend to party? It’s not just about catching the deal days either. Personally, I’ve found that there are a lot of reasons to go out during the week, and they can range from being on vacation to something as simple as everyday stress. And we all know how stressful Mondays can be…
Martini Monday at AZ/88
AZ/88 is easily one of my favorite places in Scottsdale because it’s chic, open until 1:30 a.m. and serves food until 12:30 a.m. every day. I like places that don’t treat Friday like it’s more important than Monday. Hang with the cool kids, sip on a martini, check out the current art installation, order a burger (and waffle fries), and a strawberry shortcake if you’re feeling really crazy. It’s not the easiest place to find and is, as even they say themselves, a very, “in the know” spot, so going on a Monday feels even more right.
Lip Sync for Your Life Tuesdays at BS West
BS West certainly knows how to turn up on a Tuesday with entertainment provided by Star Choice Entertainers that includes lip synchers in drag battling it out elimination-style. To ensure that the patrons are having as much fun as the lip sync battlers, they kindly offer a 2-4-1 happy hour until 8 p.m., $3 Coors Light and $5 Three Olives cocktails, plus they hit you with a complimentary drink ticket when you walk through the door. A favorite on Scottsdale’s LGBTQ scene, BS West is a good time from the moment you walk in. The show starts at 9 p.m.
Something Fun Wednesdays at Bevvy
Bevvy takes Wednesday to a whole different level by bringing in a local comedian to host the night’s festivities, which include fun activities like trivia, a spelling bee or my personal favorite, gong karaoke. For whatever reason, karaoke seems to be more fun on a random day of the week. Bevvy also understands that karaoke can be nerve-wracking and games are much more fun when feeling confident, so they help out with plenty of $5 drink specials and $20 bottles of wine.
Live Music Thursdays at the Beverly on Main
I love music, a sexy lounge vibe and a craft cocktail, so Thursday nights at The Beverly always sound like a good time. The night begins around 7 p.m. with acoustic-style live music and ends with a DJ spinning house music. Usually, I follow the same natural progression — start off calm with a glass of wine, loosen up and then slowly find myself on the dance floor, cocktail in hand.
BLIND DRAGON FRIDAY’S
So, even though Friday is part of the weekend, it’s also technically a weekday so we’ll still talk about a new favorite Friday spot, Blind Dragon. Blind Dragon is fun to hit on a Friday because 1) they’re only open Fridays and Saturdays and 2) they’re a karaoke bar! From astounding solo performances to carefree group singalongs – all in complete privacy – everyone feels like a star. Blind Dragon may be new to Scottsdale, but it’s a definite must-see.
With a great nightlife scene and so many amazing restaurants and bars in Scottsdale offering crazy-fun weekend scenes, I suggest checking out different pockets of Scottsdale like the Entertainment District (in downtown Scottsdale), Arcadia, DC Ranch, McCormick Ranch and Troon North. These are great spots where you can walk, golf cart or five-minute Uber to the next place to get a few stops in.
Thankfully, since we all love to party on the weekends, there’s plenty of fun to be had Monday through Thursday as well!
